Hologram of the Moon

Entry: 19 September 2011

The hologram of the moon was unveiled to the public for the first time at the New York Hall of Science on September 18th & 19th, 2011. This was during the Maker Faire event, sponsored by Make Magazine. The display, which also included 3D technologies going back to the 19th century, won an Editor's Choice blue ribbon. It was well received, along with its companion stereo view card, shown in an antique stereoscope.

As of this writing there are no other plans to exhibit it anywhere other than the upcoming Holography Reading Room, where it will be placed on permanent display. I hope that you can stop by sometime (by appointment) and see it for yourself.

In the meantime, if you wish to have a copy, there are several download options available via the project table of contents. All of them are free of charge, including the poster, except for a copy of the stereograph, which I am charging a nominal fee for a copy.
