Holography Workshops for Adults

Basic Full Color Holography
- A complete introduction to color holography.

Discover true color working with red, green and blue (RGB) lasers!

Description: This workshop is similar to the comprehensive workshop -- except that it centers around the basics of full-color holography using red, green and blue lasers. Please note that true, full color holography is relatively new, relatively rare, and is still in experimental stages.

As with the comprehensive, no prior experience with holography is necessary, and the creation of one 4 x 5-inch, single-beam, full color reflection hologram on a professional, glass holographic plate is included. Topics included in this workshop are:

  • Basics of Full Color Holography
  • Types of R-G-B Lasers and their Output
  • The Combining of R-G-B beams
  • Determining Proper Exposure Levels
  • Color Balancing Beams
  • Effective Light & Air Baffling
  • Color Processing Chemistry
  • Practical Densitometry
  • Achieving Correct Polarization with Three Lasers
  • Moving On to Larger Holograms . . . and more.

In this workshop you'll discover . . . * methods for combining beams * color mixing * which lasers work, which do not, and why * how to get the most from your available working space * how to match you RGB laser energies to the RGB sensitivity curves of your recording media * learn to get the most from a spatial filter without changing the lens or pinhole combination * mixing your own bulk processing chemistry * determining the correct density of your developed hologram * learn how to get the most power from your laser to the emulsion * what you'll need to know to begin making larger holograms * saving money * and more!

Overall, you'll obtain a solid foundation of start-to-finish correct information, and develop hands-on experience and basic skills for working with full-color holography.
